IT BEGAN WITH A BEGINNER'S JEWELRY CLASS.
Cristina Hurley began her jewelry career in her teens, taking an introductory jewelry class, and eventually became an apprentice for a metalsmith/jewelry designer in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Growing up in an artistic family, Cristina was exposed to many different kinds of art, both visual and performing arts, since a very young age. It influenced her direction in her own interests and eventual studies at Rhode Island School of Design in the '90's.
Cristina graduated from RISD in 1996 and went on to work for several well known designers and boutiques in New York City, including Reinstein/Ross and Annie Fensterstock. She moved to New England with her family in 2002, and started her own home business in 2007. In 2010, Cristina opened shop at her original location on Rockland Street, where she had her studio for 2 years until settling at 554 Washington Street in Canton until May of 2015. Cristina currently works out of her home studio in Canton, MA, which gives her more time to be home with her family.
